Arizona held its second to last practice of the week Monday and it was the last time the team would get to talk to the media before Thursday's season opener against UTSA. Here are some quick notes from Monday night's practice to get you ready for the rest of the week.

* Injury wise things are looking pretty good outside of those who have already been addressed by Rich Rodriguez. UA has one more practice to go Tuesday, but as of now everyone on the two-deep who was not previously mentioned should be good to go.

* At this point Sammy Morrison is expected to get the start at cornerback and he expects to get tested early and often. Rich Rodriguez said he hasn't said anything special to the freshman, but he knows the defensive staff will have the corner ready to go.

"You just have to go out there and do the same thing you do in practice," he said. "I think sometimes you attack personnel if you're an offensive coach, but most of the time you attack scheme and go from there."

* Today's practice was completely closed to the media so there was no open portion, but don't be surprised if Arizona has a trick or two up its sleeve come Thursday night. I still don't know how much it will show in the first game, especially being a 31-point favorite, but don't be surprised if you see something a little different pop up here and there.

* UTSA has had lots of turnover from last season's roster and it will be starting a redshirt freshman quarterback as well. Still, Rodriguez came back to the scheme and preparing for that when it comes to the Roadrunners after Monday's practice.

"They are pretty unique offensively," he said. "Some of the stuff they do is a little different and we don't see all year, so our guys have got to be ready for different stuff. Especially in a first game, some different formations and motions and shifts. So we've got to be ready for all that and be sharp mentally."

* Rodriguez reiterated that the offensive line is still one of his biggest concerns going into Thursday's game especially on offense.

I will have more on UTSA tomorrow as well as more from this week as Arizona continues to look toward its first game of the year.
