Plenty of drama that could indirectly impact Arizona right now with quarterbacks out West. Tate Martell decommitted from Texas A&M last night and Ryan Kelley decommitted from Oregon earlier this week. Martell could end up at any number of places now while Kelley looks destined for ASU. If Oregon offers Martell that is one place he could end up while UCLA is always out there too, but how much the Bruins truly want him remains a question.

How this all impacts Arizona is Braxton Burmeister. He remains Arizona's top quarterback target but with all the shifting it is making things difficult on the recruitment because he doesn't seem to have too big of an issue seeing how things play out. The recent Cal offer is an intriguing one, but that is another place Martell could end up with Jake Spavital there now. Washington is/was another option that was intriguing for Burmeister but the Huskies just offered Chase Garbers.

Everybody (it feels like) has decided they want Jack Sears from San Clemente, California and that is going to be an interesting one. USC just offered him and while he has seemingly every West Coast offer he could want it could be Tennessee that ends up with him.

So where does that leave things for Arizona? Well, for now Burmeister remains the prime target for the Wildcats. It felt like that was something that wouldn't end up coming back together for UA when he decided to part ways with the program, but Rod Smith and the staff never let off the gas and now that the four-star prospect has seen what else is out there the Wildcats situation is not much different - and probably better - than the other options he has right now. The issue right now for getting it done is you can't do this song and dance twice, so it has to be a definite thing if he's going to commit again. That means it could take some more time to get done.

If for some reason things fall through the Wildcats continue to make Sears a priority as well. He is a long way from making a decision and he is getting new offers almost daily now so there will be a lot of competition.

Marcel Yates stopped by Villa Park High in Orange County this week and there is an interesting option there with Nick Sipe. He doesn't quite fit what the system often looks for in a quarterback but he's got a heck of an arm and at 6-foot-4 he's got the size. Colorado State and NAU are the only programs that have offered so far, but he is going to be a big target for bigger programs once things get settled with some of these other higher-end options.
