Even the staunchest critics of the team had to admit that the defense looked improved Saturday, especially during the first half before the lack of depth caught up with it, and one of the biggest things to point to is the new staff. Paul Rhoads has stressed the fundamentals and he was able to take a group that didn't have a lot of experience and keep Arizona in the game until the end. We'll see how real that progress is this weekend, but Pac-12 Network's Yogi Roth had some positive things to say about the Arizona defensive coordinator this week. We obviously have not been able to get as close to this team because of all the restrictions but I have mentioned based on what I have seen Sumlin got it right from a personality perspective with each member of the staff. Roth, who played receiver at Pitt while Rhoads was the DC there, has a lot of faith in UA's new coordinator.
