Arizona has continued its search for tall wide receivers. That more than maybe any other position has been the focus for the Wildcats in this class. After this season the height is going to take a hit at the outside receiver spot and the Wildcats will need to have some help there in the future. Last night the program added another receiver offer out in Texas with three-star prospect Tre Adams adding the Wildcats to his list.

The Frisco-Wakeland standout checks in at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds fitting the mold of what the Wildcats are looking for right now with that size. Adams is a mid-level three-star recruit with an interesting list right now. Utah just came in about 10 days ago with a Pac-12 offer and he has schools such as BYU, Illinois, Texas State and Tulane on his list as well to go along with Ivy League schools like Brown and Dartmouth and other FCS programs.

Arizona receivers coach and Texas recruiter, Theron Aych, is leading the recruitment for the Wildcats and has been tracking Adams for a little while now. Adams is prioritizing the bigger schools that have offered so far with BYU, Illinois and Utah standing out and he is only planning to make visits to schools that have offered.

Now that the Wildcats have officially done so things can move forward with him. He has had an interest in ASU during the process but the Sun Devils have yet to offer. Knowing that there is interest in making the move over to the desert is something that can help the 'Cats with this one.

It will be interesting to see how much he sticks to his timeline since he wanted to make a decision in the next few weeks. He has been taking numerous visits and Utah is coming up on the schedule. After his visits are over he will move on toward making his choice.

"At that point, I really hope I can evaluate things and make a decision,” Adams told OrangeandBlueNews.com recently. “I’m hoping I can make it right before camp starts, so that would be either in late July or the first week of August."

Something of note with Adams is that he won the receiver MVP award earlier in the year at the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp in Dallas where there was plenty of competition. His recruitment is one of those ones that is a head-scratcher in a lot of ways considering he has the academics and size down and the talent too. He probably should have some bigger offers, but up to this point he hasn't quite taken off like you'd expect. It's the type of recruit Arizona should be making a play on and we'll see where it goes from here.

"Adams came out of nowhere to bring home the wide receiver MVP award, an impressive feat considering the loaded group of players in attendance at the position," Rivals.com's Texas analyst Nick Krueger wrote this spring after the 3-Stripe Camp. "He has great size and his ability to make big-time catches was on full display."

Rivals.com analyst Josh Helmholdt had something similar to say about the new Arizona target at the end of the entire series naming Adams one of the top 10 receivers of the entire circuit for his performance in Dallas.

"Adams was a major surprise at the Dallas camp, earning MVP honors over a loaded field of competitors," he wrote. "Adams has impressive size and he knows how to use it to go up and make big plays, something he did with regularity at the event."
