right now that Arizona is trying to get this defense on the fast track to being better. Rich Rodriguez has obviously mentioned that he believes there will be numerous freshmen on the field this season - especially on defense - and it could be more than any other time in his tenure at the school. In addition to that the Wildcats have prioritized some prospects who will graduate early and be eligible to participate in spring ball next year. In some cases it has even brought up the idea with recruits.

One of those is new commit Tony Fields who planned on playing out his basketball and baseball seasons next school year before making his way to Tucson next summer. Now he plans to graduate in December and enroll at UA in January. All that was because of an idea Arizona got him thinking about. The staff has to work with what it has this year, but it's clear at a lot of spots it is hoping to get some of those new faces in the program and ready to go in a hurry.
