Kevin Sumlin met with the media today as the Wildcats turn the page on the USC loss. I gathered up some of the most notable topics/quotes from the press conference in this rundown of the day's top news and notes. Sumlin was in a more combative mood than usual, which was interesting. Here's a quick synopsis of what I wrote about.

- Sumlin says "no" when asked if anything has changed about what he said Saturday night regarding the quarterback situation and the depth chart at the position. He said it will be about practice and executing better when the "moment of truth" comes more than anything else.

- The big revelation that came out of the day is that JJ Taylor is not 100 percent healthy right now and he had to come out of the game a couple times, which Sumlin seemed concerned about. He said the staff thought he would be just fine coming back from his injury that forced him to miss close to a month of practice, but that was not the case Saturday night.

- He is still mad about the penalties that weren't called on the trick play pass from Jamarye Joiner to Stanley Berryhill III – which he believed was a missed pass interference – and the run by JJ Taylor when he had his facemaks pulled on by a USC defender. He was plenty lively when discussing those two plays Monday.

- Sumlin reiterated a lot of the same things he said the previous week when referencing USC and its injuries. He said the key to the game will be whoever can bounce back from a disappointing game the previous week will be in position to win. He added that turnovers and field position will again be important and he understands that his team has to be ready for what Stanford does on both sides of the ball since not much changes with how the Cardinal approaches games even with its injured players.
