Just got off the phone with Hutchinson Community College assistant Jay Cyriac and I will have a coach's take piece, similar to what I did on Dusan Ristic.
Among the things I'm trying to get a feel for with these interviews is how these players respond to coaching. Playing for Sean Miller, obviously, takes some thick skin.
Cyriac said Allen played for a high school coach in Wilmington, N.C., who was a retired narcotics detective.
"He was a pretty tough guy," Cyriac said. "I would watch. He'd get in Kadeem's face. A very intense, excellent coach. But Kadeem loved it. Kadeem wants to be coached. Actually, I think he responds better to intensity."
So be on the lookout for that piece.
